When we began feeding MaKenna solids, we were very cautious about allergies. We would introduce a food and then wait four days before feeding it to her again incase she had an allergic reaction. She had small reactions to vitamin C and A but a larger reaction to egg yolks. There are not many people allergic to egg yolks that is why it is okay to introduces the yolks before a child is one year. However, two hours after MaKenna ate the egg yolks she would start throwing up.
Our friend Jill is an acupuncturist and she asked us to bring MaKenna in to her clinic so we could do muscle testing and treat her egg allergy. The muscle testing is non invasive. Ken or I place our hand on MaKenna's stomach and then Jill places an allergen vial into MaKenna's sock. If MaKenna is allergic to the allergen then Jill is able to push our arm down. It was a fascinating experience. MaKenna has been treated for a few of her allergies and is no longer allergic to eggs. Each allergy is only treated once. There is no need for multiple treatments.
