MaKenna is ONE!

Today our precious little girl turns one. It is hard to believe that one year ago today I woke up with contractions and headed to the hospital and 15 hours later held my sweet girl in my arms. So much has changed this past year and we have tried our best to document it all.

Ken and I began this milestone celebration for MaKenna yesterday with a birthday party. MaKenna's family and close friends came over to the house for light hors d'oeuvres and cupcakes.

Today we went to the mall so Ken could do his Christmas shopping and while we were there MaKenna played with a Cairn Terrier puppy in the pet store. She squealed with delight as the little puppy ran around her on the floor. After playing with the puppy, MaKenna went to see Santa for the first time. She sat on his lap and was a little weary of this stranger but she did not cry.

Our next stop was Build-a-Bear. Ken and I thought that it would be fun to create a special stuffed animal for MaKenna. We chose a long eared rabbit and named her Uno.

MaKenna taking (more like snatching) Uno (unstuffed) from Ken. She was so excited.

Lastly, while Ken was finishing up his shopping, I took MaKenna to the play area in the mall. This was her first time in this type of area and she loved it. Most of the kids were bigger than her but she held her own and had a great time playing.

Exhausted from all of the day's fun. MaKenna cuddled up with Uno in her car seat on the way home.
