38 Week Appointment
Yesterday Michelle and I went to our 38 week (it's really only 37-1/2) appointment. What was expected to be only 30-mins ended up taking nearly 3-1/2 hours. This happened for a couple reasons. First the Dr. was 45-mins behind schedule. Michelle and I made light of this time by playing with our new Flip (it is a tiny camcorder... way cool... perhaps Michelle will post the video?) Next, our Dr. is very good, wanted to do an extra check on the baby and placenta as we near the end of the pregnancy. So, Dr. Barton ordered up fetal monitoring to see if baby was active, moving, and also to measure contractions Michelle may be having (she actually is having contractions but doesn't really know it because she feels nothing). Everything is perfect and as expected. We also got another ultrasound to measure amniotic fluid. Everything is great there also! We also have also confirmed that this is very likely a baby girl so we shouldn't expect any surprises when she comes!!! Lastly, we were able to discuss a pediatrician recommendation with our Dr. which was very helpful for the ongoing care of baby MaKenna. This all being said we should have a healthy and happy baby girl sometime today or in the next 25 days ;-) who knows?
