1/2 Way To Parenthood

We have hit several milestones of pregnancy now and the clock is ticking towards parenthood for Michelle and I (only 18 weeks to go).  From the positive home pregnancy test, to seeing our baby through the ultrasounds, hearing the heart beat on the Doppler, and now I have been able to feel the baby kick with my hand.  These milestones are a growing reminder that there is indeed a baby girl that is making her way into our hearts and our lives.  The bonding that takes place in a simple kick is so powerful and mysterious.  That kick as it represents the first physical contact with my baby girl is the first step to holding holding her tiny hand, or teaching her to say momma or dada.  It is the first step to catching her while teaching her to walk or dropping her off at her first day of school.  The significance of these milestones is powerful in the process of becoming a parent for the first time and very much a mystery how a tiny kick inside the womb is such an important factor for bonding and feeling a new connection with our baby girl.
