Today we went to the doctor for our 12 week check-up. Since there are no longer any ultrasounds until week 20, the doctor checks the baby's heartbeat with a fetal doppler. He actually told us that the chances of finding the heartbeat could be as little as one in three or two in three. So we consider ourselves lucky that he found it within a minute or so. It was pretty cool. Before hearing the heartbeat, we heard the baby kick the doppler and move. In the audio clip you can hear the baby's heartbeat and a second kick. Our little one must be pretty active or doesn't like being poked. We will go back again in 4 weeks to see the nurse practitioner.
